Esther Koch founded Encore Management to provide personal and corporate advisory services and seminars that assist Boomers with the range of issues associated with caring for an aging parent and their own aging. She personally faced the many challenges of eldercare as primary caregiver to her mother during her last ten years of life.
Esther was honored to have been selected as a delegate to the last White House Conference on Aging. This conference, held once every ten years, is tasked with providing aging policy recommendations to the President and Congress. She continues to serve on the California delegation. In addition, Esther is a Medicare Aging Network Partner with the Administration on Aging and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid for the Medicare Prescription Drug Program. Her media interviews have appeared on television, radio and in print.
Esther received her graduate degree in gerontology from the University of Southern California. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, the Business Forum on Aging of the American Society on Aging and AARP.
As a Stanford MBA and UCLA undergraduate, Esther is also a CPA and former Price Waterhouse tax professional. She held CFO positions for such companies as The Gymboree Corporation, Gump's, Pete's Brewing Company, Home Express and a variety of dot.com start-ups. In addition, she has provided strategic marketing services to a wide range of consumer product and service companies.
In honor of her mother who had leukemia, Esther is very committed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She is a past member of the Silicon Valley/Monterey Bay Chapter Board and the National Board of Representatives. She is also an active participant in the Society's Team in Training, Hike for Discovery and Light the Night programs.
Bicycling, walking and dancing, plus two granddaughters and lots of friends, are her prescription for youthful, happy, healthy aging.
